Stepping Out… for Protein Waffles!

Who likes homemade high protein waffles? If you haven’t tried it yet, here a  link to  THE BEST high protein waffles! Everyone who has tried them, just loves them.

As promised, we gave away a waffle maker, and a Penzey’s Spice advent calendar to our top two winners of the January step contest!

Why do we do this? Well, the idea is actually something one of my original (OG) strength trainers used to do every single March to help people get ready for hiking season. A group of people who all worked out at the same gym would go a little crazy – walking on the treadmill for hours just to get bragging rights!

I’m super happy to announce that Leadville really showed up for this contest – thank you. Our two winners were Janelle Stefanic and Amanda McIntosh.  Janelle kept a beautiful written record of her activity said that what motivated her was that she really wanted to win, and she did (but she declined a picture).

Do you recognize the name Amanda McIntosh? Well, you should! Amanda is the only woman to win the Leadville 100 two consecutive years! During the stepping contest, she was also training for a HYROX event which is a running, and functional training event that requires super-human endurance and strength. Amanda is fighting her own health battle right now, and just like everything else in her life, she is going to win it, in style.

Both women really showed us all how to get moving. Averaging between 6,000 and 12,000 steps per day, in the coldest, darkest month of the year shows real spirit and passion for your health and fitness.

How does this relate to your nutrition? Being active improves your metabolism, helps reduce inflammation, improves insulin resistance and lowers blood glucose. It helps your body more efficiently use the nutrients that you eat! Keep it up everyone and we will do it again in January 2027, so be ready!
